Lisseth Boon

Lisseth Boon is a Venezuelan investigative journalist with extensive experience in print and digital media in Venezuela and transnational collaborative projects.
For her investigations into corruption, organized crime, illegal mining, environmental crimes, and human rights violations, she has been recognized by the national investigative journalism award from the Press and Society Institute (Ipys Venezuela); the Javier Valdéz Latin American Conference of Investigative Journalism Award (Ipys/Colpin); the Gabo Prize for Ibero-American journalism; the Inter American Press Association (Sip) Award for Journalistic Excellence; and the Fetisov Journalism Award.
Boon graduated from the Andrés Bello Catholic University and she has postgraduate studies from the Simón Bolívar University in Caracas and the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain.
She has been a guest speaker and workshop facilitator at international journalism conferences. She was the coordinator of the investigative unit of the digital media Runrun.es in Caracas and of investigative projects of the Alianza Rebelde Investiga (ARI) formed by Runrun.es, El Pitazo, and TalCual.
Since April 2023, Boon has been part of the Armando.Info team, the only media dedicated to investigative journalism in Venezuela.
