Katie McQue

Katie McQue is an investigative reporter based in New York. Her work has been published by The Washington Post, The Guardian, New York Times, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), Al Jazeera, Rappler, and others.
Her two-part investigation into the maritime smuggling of sanctioned Iranian oil was featured on the print front page of The Washington Post in 2022. From 2022 to 2023 she was the lead reporter for the ICIJ’s Trafficking Inc. project.
Her work investigating supply chains and human trafficking has received multiple awards, including the U.N. International Labour Organization’s Global Media Competition on Labour Migration; the Washington, D.C., Dateline Club’s Online Investigative Reporting Award as well as its best-in-show prize, the Robert D.G. Lewis Watchdog Award; the New York Deadline Club’s award for business investigative reporting; a finalist for Investigative Reporters and Editors’ Tom Renner Award for coverage of organized crime and other criminal acts; and second place for the National Press Club’s Michael A. Dornheim Award for defense reporting.
