Julia Lerner


Julia Lerner is a second-year graduate student at UMD from central Ohio. As an undergraduate at Philip Merrill, she pursued a degree in multiplatform journalism with a minor in rhetoric, studying political rhetoric and international press freedom. After completing a fellowship at the Library of Congress's Congressional Research Service, Lerner went on to assist the Baruch S. Blumberg NASA Chair in Astrobiology at the Kluge Center for Scholars, learning about the terraforming of Mars, Afrofuturism, and Elon Musk. In 2019, Lerner worked at CNN as a member of "The Row," the team responsible for reviewing all CNN reporting for legal, ethical, and factual issues.
