Josephat Mwanzi is an independent Tanzanian senior journalist and mentor who uses his communication skills for development. His work focuses on managing the use of knowledge for development through traditional and new media. He has worked as a radio mentor-trainer for BBC Media Action (the BBC’s international development charity). His goal is to strengthen the media in outlying areas of Africa by developing local journalists’ skills for objective and independent reporting. He has worked for the BBC World Service and Farm Radio International (a Canadian NGO on development) as writer, reporter, radio producer and program manager. He has also contributed stories to The Green Planet Monitor on rural development issues and worked as production officer for Jesuit Refugee Radio Service at Radio Kwizera in west Tanzania.
