One of the first reporters of the Capital B newsroom in Gary, Indiana, Jenae Barnes covers health disparities and environmental injustices in the majority-Black community. Previously, she interned at ABC News, Apple News, and Forbes.
Barnes holds a master's degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor's degree in global affairs from George Mason University.
She is originally from Washington, D.C., and spent two years in New York before moving to Gary.
