Janice Cantieri

REPORTING FELLOW

Janice Cantieri is an undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in international development studies and writing. She is interested in environmental and social justice issues and their implications at the human level.
Janice has spent time in Guatemala with women operating a micro-finance venture, volunteered at a clinic for malnourished children in Panama, and studied in both Ireland and France. Through her travels she has been inspired to continue to learn from each person she encounters, and has realized how important listening and sharing stories is to fostering connection.
She believes that we are all connected, and that hearing others' stories brings people together and creates connection and unity, regardless of how different we may seem. She hopes to help spark discussion and create positive change. This summer Janice reports from Kiribati on the impact of rising sea levels at the community and individual level.
