Mrs. Ivonne Solano is a 4th-grade bilingual teacher in a two-way dual language immersion program in Texas. She has been in education for more than 12 years, where she is committed to social justice and equity for emergent bilingual students and Latinx communities through an asset-based perspective. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Reading Education at Texas Woman's University focusing on bilingualism and biliteracy. Her educational trajectory as a transnational student and experiences as a first-generation college student is the foundation of her commitment to equity and social justice. She enjoys spending time with her husband Joshua and three sons, Joshua, Samuel, and Sebastian.
