Gabriella Jóźwiak

Gabriella Jóźwiak is a Polish-British freelance journalist who writes about children and global development.
Since 2022 she has covered how the war in Ukraine is impacting children, with a focus on preschoolers, mental health, and education. She aims to tell stories through a childhood lens and ensure children’s voices are heard in her reporting.
Jóźwiak was a Dart Center for Trauma & Journalism Early Childhood Global Reporting Fellow in 2022 and is now a Dart trainer.
Her stories have appeared in The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Sunday Times, Devex, Index on Censorship, Equal Times, and New Internationalist, among others.
Jóźwiak is a regular speaker on The Telegraph’s Ukraine: The Latest podcast.
She has won several awards, including the 2024 Premio Luchetta International Press Category, which recognizes journalists reporting on children impacted by war. She also won the 2023 Freelancing For Journalists Best UK Print Journalist and 2015 Amnesty International Gaby Rado Awards.
