Fernando Martinho

Fernando Martinho is a photographer, journalist, and videomaker. Born in Rio de Janeiro, he lives in São Paulo, where he develops projects in the socio-environmental field. His work focuses on the human condition and social and environmental issues.
He won the Vladimir Herzog Human Rights Prize, in the multimedia category, for "Threats, Militias and Death: the New Face of the Velho Chico" in 2020.
Martinho was nominated for the Gabo Prize for the series Inside the Fire and the documentary Reports of a War Correspondent in the Amazon, produced by Repórter Brasil. He also won the Abril Prize and took part in PhotoEspaña 2009 in Madrid, with the exhibition De Viaje at the Instituto Cervantes. In 2012 he participated in the DocBrazil Festival in Beijing with the video Faces of Brazil.
