I completed a dual degree in English and Elementary Education at the University of Connecticut in their integrated IB/M program. I attended the University of Connecticut for my master's degree, during which time I studied in London. While in London, my cohort and I wrote a dissertation on the hidden curriculum, highlighting how subtle body language and unspoken signals can impact students. Currently, I am in my second year of teaching 5th grade humanities at Cross Street Intermediate School in Naugatuck, Connecticut. I run an affinity group for students of color and aim to create a safe space for students to come together and discuss and process their experiences and emotions. I’m proud of the work I’ve done so far and I look forward to the future of my teaching career.
