Eduard Martín-Borregón

Eduard Martín-Borregón is a data and investigative journalist with over 15 years of experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams that combine technological development, data analysis, research, and journalistic narratives. 

Martín-Borregón is the executive director of Abrimos.info, an organization dedicated to generating strategic knowledge from data. 

He has been honored with the Mozilla Foundation Fellowship 2024-26, the Sigma Award 2020—the most prestigious award for data journalism—and has been nominated twice for the García Márquez Innovation Award: in 2016 for creating Méxicoleaks and in 2020 for Todos los Contratos.

Martín-Borregón founded and coordinated the Latin American Journalists Network for Transparency and Anti-Corruption, and has led data teams at PODER (Mexico) and Datasketch (Colombia).

He has also worked as an external consultant for the National Transparency Institute of Mexico (INAI), the Digital Agency for Public Innovation (ADIP), the Municipality of Puebla, and the Open Government Partnership. 

His research and data works have been published in outlets such as The Washington Post, Revista Proceso, El Mundo, and El Periódico de Catalunya.
