Doug Bock Clark

Doug Bock Clark is a writer and photographer whose articles and pictures have been published in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, The New Republic, and other magazines and newspapers. His first book, Against the Leviathan: The True Story of the World's Last Whaling Tribe, chronicles two years in the life of an indigenous Indonesian tribe that hunts sperm whales with bamboo harpoons as globalization overwhelms their remote island. It will be published by Little, Brown. His work has been anthologized by Oxford University Press and supported by two Fulbright Fellowships and a Glimpse Fellowship, a travel writing grant partly sponsored by National Geographic. "The Bot Bubble," his cover article for The New Republic, was a finalist for the 2016 Mirror Award.
