Daniela Castro is a Colombian investigative journalist based in Bogotá. She joined OCCRP in 2017 as a reporter and was later named South America editor, coordinating investigations and working alongside journalists from across the region—a role she held until March 2025.
She now works as a freelance journalist covering organized crime, corruption, and the environment. Daniela has been a guest speaker and workshop facilitator at journalism conferences in Colombia and internationally. In 2018, she was a Gabo Awards finalist for a collaborative OCCRP investigation into the kidnapping and killing of El Comercio journalists.

The same project was also shortlisted for a Sigma Award. In September 2023, she was recognized as one of Colombia's most transformative women under 45 for her contributions to journalism.
