Cedric Gerbehaye

Cédric Gerbehaye is a Belgian documentary photographer and a member of Agence VU.
In 2002, during his journalism studies, he saw the beginning of his continued interest in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as he documented the disappointment and revolt that resulted from the failure of the Oslo Accords. He went on to do more reporting in the West Bank and Gaza, then focused on the economic and social issues in Israel before taking up the Kurdish crisis in Turkey and Iraq. In 2006 he won two awards in the Prix Photographie Ouverte from Charleroi Photography Museum. A year later his work Gaza, "Summer Rains," received the Bayeux-Calvados Award for war correspondents.
Since 2007, he has made regular visits to the Democratic Republic of Congo and has also worked in Burundi and the Central African Republic.
His work, "Congo in Limbo," www.congoinlimbo.com was published by Le Bec en l'Air in 2010. It has earned international recognition, including a World Press Photo Award, the Amnesty International Media Award and the Olivier Rebbot Award from the Overseas Press Club of America.
He started working in Sudan in 2010 with a grant from the Magnum Foundation Emergency Fund.
