Cassandra Garibay

Cassandra Garibay is the senior housing reporter at El Tímpano, a Bay Area nonprofit newsroom covering the region’s Latino and Mayan immigrant communities.
Prior to joining El Tímpano, Garibay served as the USC Annenberg Center for Health Journalism California engagement editor and has previously reported for Fresnoland, The Fresno Bee, and The Tribune in San Luis Obispo.
She was born and raised in California with roots in the Bay Area and Central Valley. She has a background in housing and health equity reporting and community engagement journalism.
Garibay has a bachelor's in journalism from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
