Ayanna Eva Dickinson

REPORTING FELLOW

Ayanna Eva Dickinson was born and raised in Washington Heights, New York, and attended Frank McCourt High School on the Upper West Side, where she discovered her natural ability and love for writing. Growing up with a grandfather who was an esteemed geologist, science has also been a passion of hers. However, she struggled to find a way to merge her love of writing with science. Naturally research projects became an outlet for her curiosity and need to share information. Ayanna has conducted a variety of research projects from DNA barcoding to remote sensing investigations through satellite images. Today she is currently a second year student at Guttman Community College where she is majoring in Urban Studies. Through her major courses she learned more about sustainable cities and hopes to help be the change that global cities around the world must make in order to protect our planet.
