Arya Hodjat is from Bethesda, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C. He graduated from the University of Maryland this past spring with degrees in political science and journalism. He was managing editor of the university's newspaper, The Diamondback, for two years, where he oversaw and helped design the paper's final print edition and reported on everything from the death of a university football player to student government elections to the newspaper's own racist past. He has also interned at the Voice of America and the Alexandria Times in Virginia.
Hodjat is particularly interested in policy, and how the decisions that politicians make shape everyday lives. He looks forward to doing just that with the Howard Center's homeless project this summer.
