Annie Hylton

Annie Hylton is an award-winning investigative journalist and magazine writer from Canada, known for her long-form narrative storytelling. Through her work, she aims to foster empathy and illuminate the human stakes behind major policy debates. Her writing covers a range of topics, including gender, migration, human rights, and conflict. She has reported from regions such as the Middle East, Central America, and Africa, contributing to leading publications, including The New Yorker, Harper’s, The New Republic, London Review of Books, Esquire UK, and The Walrus.

A recipient of a Canadian National Magazine Award, Hylton teaches investigative journalism at Sciences Po Paris and was trained as an international lawyer. She holds a juris doctor degree and a master of laws in international humanitarian law and human rights. She graduated from Columbia University's Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism.
