Vanenka Mosqueira

TEACHER FELLOW

Vanenka Mosqueira is a dual citizen of Perú and the US, a Latina immigrant, and a passionate educator who has taught from 3K through K–12 and higher education. She has learned deeply from living and teaching in Peru, Chile, and the United States, bringing a rich global perspective to her classroom. Proudly an alumna of Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (BS, MA) and International Teacher Certified by the European Council of International Schools (ECIS) in collaboration with Cambridge International Examinations, Vanenka has shared her teaching expertise as a presenter in IB and Project Zero workshops and as a virtual coach for Visible Thinking courses. At Atlanta International School, she is the Grade 5 Spanish homeroom teacher and serves on the Equity and Inclusion Educational Council as a Bridge Builder, supporting intercultural understanding, competence, and cultural humility, while also contributing to the Activism & Identity-Safety Working Group. Influenced by her time as a journalist and radio producer in Georgia and inspired by Out of Eden Learn, a Project Zero initiative with Pulitzer-winning journalist Paul Salopek, her participation as a Pulitzer Teacher Fellow enriches her teaching with global storytelling, civic engagement, and a focus on justice, equity, and empathy, bringing these values directly into her classroom.
