SECTIONS

Pulitzer Center grantee Nina Dietz focuses on storytelling and planetary health at William & Mary on Monday, October 27, when she delivers a lecture titled, “Beyond the Burn Scar: The Long Shadow of the LA Wildfires.”

Dietz, an investigative journalist and photographer, hopes to open a dialogue with the community on what she found through her reporting on the wildfires and the intersection of human and environmental impacts. Her Pulitzer Center-supported reporting includes articles published in Inside Climate News and takes on several issues including how scientists are studying the toxic hazards left behind in the wildfires’ wake.

Dietz completed an undergraduate degree in photography from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and was a Stabile Fellow at the Columbia Journalism School where she obtained her master’s degree.

The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by William & Mary’s Charles Center and Year of the Environment in partnership with the Pulitzer Center. William & Mary is a Campus Consortium partner.

While on campus for a two-day visit, Dietz also will meet with students including individuals involved in the 15th Annual Sharp Journalism Seminar.
