Since the construction of the Gorano Dam and the nearby Thar Coal Block II power plant, the women of the Meghwar community have seen their world turned upside down.

Once proud guardians of more than a hundred ancestral wells, they carried water with dignity and sustained their families for generations.

Now, those wells lie poisoned, fields stand barren, and saline floods weaken the very foundations of their homes.

This video tells the story of their daily struggle for water, dignity, and survival in the shadow of a project built in the name of progress.
