SECTIONS

Journalist Gladstone Taylor will visit Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas, on Monday, March 24, 2025, to speak with faculty and students about his environmental reporting in his home country of Jamaica.

The Pulitzer Center supported two projects by Taylor. One project examined the state of Jamaica's coastal ecosystems and how that echoes the Caribbean region's climate change vulnerabilities and solutions. The other one examined the uncertain future of the country's most prized rainforest region.

Taylor is a member of Covering Climate Now and The Uproot Project. He is a multimedia journalist with The Gleaner, the oldest Jamaican daily newspaper.

Taylor’s visit will include class visits and a public talk, the latter sponsored by international honor society Pi Gamma Mu in partnership with the Pulitzer Center and in support of Huston-Tillotson’s global studies major. Huston-Tillotson is part of the Pulitzer Center’s Campus Consortium network.
