Kate LaRocque

Kate LaRocque was formerly the director of development at the Pulitzer Center.
Former Pulitzer Center Development Director Kate LaRocque has over 30 years of experience in fundraising for journalism, cultural, and arts organizations. Before joining the Pulitzer Center, she worked with Wisconsin Public Radio, where she was chief development officer and executive director for the supporting WPRA Board of Directors.
LaRocque was also development director for American Players Theatre, a classical repertory theater, and she was the director of corporate underwriting for PBS Wisconsin.
She is committed to helping donors make a lasting impact by aligning their passions and interests with funding opportunities.
LaRocque's expertise spans major giving, corporate and foundation support, and board relations, as well as program officer roles. She has worked extensively with grantees, providing funding to regional artists, civic and arts organizations through her past work with the Wisconsin Sesquicentennial Commission and the Wisconsin Arts Board.
She also played a key role in the establishment and management of a national grants program with Best Practices in Journalism, which aimed to ensure editorial integrity in political coverage among broadcasters, and provided funds to commercial and public newsrooms throughout the United States.
