Please join the Pulitzer Center and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Wednesday, July 21-Friday, July 23, 2021 for "Elevating Underreported Stories of Resilience in the Classroom through Global News and Media Literacy," an engaging webinar and workshop series for educators.
This series will introduce methods for diversifying and analyzing news and media sources from a human rights and social justice lens, and will introduce practical strategies, tools, and resources to seamlessly incorporate this topic into your current curriculum. Additionally, the sessions will feature workshops led by education staff from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Outreach & Community Engagement Librarian Tiffany Thornton, and presentations with award-winning journalists, including Megha Rajagopalan and Adi Renaldi.
Many voices are left out of the conversation about the global-to-local issues that impact our communities. These disparities can have significant adverse effects on the communities impacted and the world as a whole. Enrich your classroom conversations by bringing these underrepresented voices and perspectives to your students!
