Tiffany Thornton
GUEST SPEAKER
Tiffany Thornton is the Outreach and Community Engagement Librarian of the UWM Libraries for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In her current role of 7 years, she coordinates library experiences for over 1,000 local K-12 students yearly and provides outreach and diversity services to underserved students on campus and library instructional support for Education and Multicultural Studies’ courses. She also provides collection development for the Curriculum Collection. Current initiatives include the leadership role on the development of the 2020 UWM libraries DEI Strategic Plan.
Tiffany was born and raised in Milwaukee, with her MLIS and Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing acquired from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has worked in almost every library within Milwaukee County and values seeing children that frequented the libraries in which she worked, now attaining their career goals. Tiffany is passionate about equitable access to resources and information for all students and seeks opportunities to assist them in the navigation of these sources for accuracy and better representation.
