Join the Pulitzer Center Education team, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and Share My Lesson as they present materials to support student engagement with The 1619 Project. The 1619 Project, inaugurated with a special issue of The New York Times Magazine, challenges readers to reframe U.S. history by marking the year when the first enslaved Africans arrived on Virginia soil as our nation's foundational date. The presentation introduce participants to the print and digital resources connected to the project, curricular resources developed by the Center and educators nationwide to support students in engaging with the project, and examples of how work created by students after their engagements with the project. The webinar will conclude with a Q&A and discussion.

This webinar is a part of the 2020 Share My Lesson Virtual Conference for teachers, and registration for this and over 30 other webinars is free for Share My Lesson members. The session is free, but registration is required. Participants can receive one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.
