The Pulitzer Center presents untold stories on lack of water access in West Africa and Peru's battle against illegal gold mining. Emmy award-winner Stephen Sapienza, <em>BusinessDay</em> (Nigeria) foreign affairs and energy correspondent Ameto Akpe, and Peter Sawyer, special projects coordinator at the Pulitzer Center, will present films and lead a discussion exploring these topics.<br>
Sapienza, Akpe, and Sawyer are part of Pulitzer Center's collaborative reporting initiative in West Africa that aims to amplify the voices of West African journalists reporting on water access in the region. Their reports can be found at the Center's <a href="/waiting-for-water">Waiting for Water</a> reporting gateway.<br>
Sapienza's project on <a href="/projects/peru-gold-mining-deforestation-environment-health-risks-poverty">wildcat gold mining</a> is part of Pulitzer Center's <a href="/global-goods-local-costs">Global Goods, Local Costs</a> gateway.<br>
