How do writers capture individuals' voices and document issues? What platforms are being used in the new media landscape?

University of Pennsylvania students and faculty explore these questions during a Pulitzer Center workshop on Thursday, April 16.

Pulitzer Center Senior Editor, Tom Hundley, a UPenn alum, leads the workshop focusing on how to tell authentic and self-aware stories about the places they travel to and work in. Alice Su, Pulitzer Center grantee based in Amman, Jordan, also will participate in the workshop via videoconference. Su's most recent reporting tells the stories of refugees living in Lebanon and Jordan, most recently Syrians who are joining others from a range of countries from Somalia to Sudan.

University of Pennsylvania is part of the Pulitzer Center Campus Consortium network. Its South Asia and Middle East Centers partner with the Pulitzer Center to feature programming to foster broader discussions and nuanced analysis of concerns that span disciplines, from journalism and business to law, religion and public health. This event is also co-sponsored by International Relations and the Project for the Advanced Research in Global Communication.
