Pulitzer Center grantee Quinn Glabicki will visit the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) on October 1 and 2, 2024. There, he will discuss environmental injustice and his reporting project, EQT’s Gas Play, with undergraduate and grad students at SAIC’s downtown and Homan Square campuses.

For his Pulitzer Center-supported project, Glabicki investigated how Pittsburgh-based EQT’s expansion in West Virginia impacted rural Appalachian communities. The reporting follows federal lawsuits by residents seeking clean water after a 2022 fracking mishap and widespread reports of contaminated water.

Glabicki is a reporter and photographer covering climate and the environment for PublicSource. Glabicki was born and raised in the Rust Belt. His long-term work focuses on communities impacted by climate change and the footprint of industry in Appalachia.

Hear Glabicki speak more on his project at the recent webinar “American Pipe Dream.”
