Join Pulitzer Center Executive Editor Indira Lakshmanan for a conversation with Joel Simon, executive director of the Committee to Protect Journalists, on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Politics and Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC.

The focus of their session is Simon's new book, We Want to Negotiate: The Secret World of Kidnapping, Hostages, and Ransom, which explores the ethical, legal, and strategic aspects of this issue by tracing the consequences of a recent kidnapping in Syria by ISIS.
