Ask Me Anything: The Impact Initiative Grant Program
Event Date:
October 28, 2026 | 9:30 AM TO 10:30 AM EDT
Are you interested in extending the life of your reporting project, ensuring the information reaches the people who need it most, and designing activities that create the conditions for change?
Our Impact Initiative Grant Program offers both financial support (grants up to $5,000) and capacity building (training and mentorship) to help journalists identify the changes their stories could help advance, and design activities that engage the audiences that can contribute to those changes.
Join us on October 28, 2026, 9:30-10:30am EDT to learn about this grant funding and capacity building opportunity. You can review the program details and application form in advance, and come with your questions.
Applications from the Impact Initiative Grant Program are open through November 3, 2026.
The program is open to current and past reporting grantees or fellows whose Pulitzer Center-supported projects were published after January 1, 2021. We have funding available to support projects focused on the following topics:
- Rainforests
- The ocean
- Climate and labor
- Racial justice
- AI accountability
- Peace and conflict
- Transparency and governance (e.g., corruption and money flows)
- Global health (for this topic, the story must focus on the Global South and engagement activities must be delivered to U.S. audiences)
We encourage journalists from the Global South and from communities that are underrepresented in the media to apply.
If you have an urgent question that is not answered by the program description and FAQs, please reach out to [email protected].
