Emily Elena Dugdale, a 2023 AI Accountability Fellow, will virtually visit the University of Missouri School of Journalism's Capstone Reporting and News Reporting courses.

During her visit on April 28-29, 2026, Dugdale will discuss her Pulitzer Center-supported project, How Tinder, Hinge, and Their Corporate Owner Keep Rape Under Wraps, an 18-month investigation into the prevalence of sexual assault among users of online dating platforms.

Dugdale is a Los Angeles-based journalist covering criminal justice. Her work has appeared in ProPublica, NPR, Marketplace, the Los Angeles Times, LAist, KPCC-FM, and LA Public Press, among other outlets. Her investigation into the role of sheriff’s deputies in a California desert school district earned a Golden Mic Award for investigative storytelling.

She is a 2022 Maynard 200 Fellow and a former board member of the Los Angeles Press Club. Dugdale also co-facilitated a mentorship program for emerging audio creators through the LA Radio Club.
