2023 AI Accountability Fellow Emily Elena Dugdale Will Visit Glendale Community College

While on campus, Dugdale will participate in a video podcast interview, speak to students in the college’s Women in American History class about her journey to becoming a journalist, and deliver a presentation on her Pulitzer Center-supported reporting project, How Tinder, Hinge, and Their Corporate Owner Keep Rape Under Wraps. 

Dugdale is a Los Angeles-based journalist covering criminal justice. Her work has appeared in ProPublica, NPR, Marketplace, the Los Angeles Times, LAist, KPCC-FM, and LA Public Press, among other outlets. Her investigation into the role of sheriff’s deputies in a California desert school district earned a Golden Mic Award for investigative storytelling.

She is a 2022 Maynard 200 Fellow and a former board member of the Los Angeles Press Club. Dugdale also co-facilitated a mentorship program for emerging audio creators through the LA Radio Club.
