The Democratic Republic of the Congo experienced the second largest Ebola outbreak in history. But the humanitarian response was mired by conflicts. Nature reporter Amy Maxmen was invited by WHO director general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to visit Butembo in North Kivu and see the challenges for herself.
