Viewing Guide: Jon Cohen and the Race to a COVID-19 Vaccine

Warm-up: Where do you get your information about COVID-19? What are you still curious about?

Introducing the Lesson: Discuss the road to a vaccine for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, and Jon Cohen's experience covering past epidemics and infectious disease outbreaks. 

Analyzing the Reporting: Analyze the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, how researchers plan to create a vaccine for the virus, and what challenges lie between now and then. 

Extension Activities:

1. Ask Questions: Read the webinar's Q&A, and tweet unanswered questions to Jon Cohen. 

2. Research: Dig deeper into Pulitzer Center journalism about the crisis to answer questions about its varying aspects.
