Ayo Awokoya and Tobias Jones were awarded a 2019 Frontline Club Award For Print for their article published in The Guardian about modern slavery in Italy's tomato industry.

Their investigative reporting revealed the enduring exploitation migrant communities in the south of Italy have faced over decades of working within the tinned tomato industry. The in-depth investigation into this form of modern day slavery sheds light on the inhumane conditions associated with the iconic Italian industry.

The Frontline Club Awards recognise emerging and established journalists who have shown integrity, courage and independence of spirit in their work.
