Job

Pou Joel Sainton

Sa a se yon fwaye
sa a se yon refij,
mi sa yo, tranble,
bann liy fant dechikete,
fant nan fetay ki lese
limyè ak lapli antre—
sa a se konfò mwen, isit la,
nan fon katakonb Pòtoprens,
anba lonbray yon gwo
pye bwa lam veritab
avèk branch frajil li yo,
avèk abondans li;
isit la kote lakou a
ankonbre ak fatra,
fèy malmennen, ak blòk kraze
yo sove nan destriksyon
e lage isit la pou sèvi,
yo plede di, pou pita—
yo se sa yo k'ap chache
papye nan kay kraze yo,
e pou di laverite,
lajan, pen, kasròl,
rad e yon repons ak non li
n'ap rele. Sa a se lakay
kote mwen priye chak swa:
"Aprann m fè kalkil Job la,
aprann mwen foli Hosea a,
aprann mwen kouman pou m
vin yon prèt soufrans moun,
montre m kouman m riske non w
pou gen pa m, montre m kouman
pou m reve de syèl ki louvri yo,
lè ki klè tankou dlo larivyè
pou poumon k ravaje,
fwi pou sèvi chè pou zo sa yo
ki anba po kraze m lan,
sik ki pou fè m gra.
Tanpri leve m
anvan prochen katastwòf la,
m'a leve e kite plas la
anvan limenm tou dekonstonbre
tankou tout lòt bagay yo—
aprann mwen kouman
pou m dòmi pwofondman
avèk lafwa w'a vin reveye m
lè lè a vin rive; epi aprann m
dòmi san zespwa m'ap leve
anba refij fele a,
aprann mwen, nèg sila a,
ki pèdi fòs, maladi nan san li konsa,
moun evite li konsa. Aprann mwen
kouman Job rive la,
aprann mwen."
