William Neuman

William Neuman has been reporting on Venezuela since 2012. He is the author of Things Are Never So Bad That They Can't Get Worse: Inside the Collapse of Venezuela, which won the 2022 Cornelius Ryan Award of the Overseas Press Club of America, as the best book of the year on international affairs.
Neuman is a former reporter for The New York Times and was the paper's Andes Region bureau chief.
His work has also appeared in The New York Review of Books, The Atlantic, The Guardian, and many other publications.
