Ted Gup


Ted Gup is a journalist, award-winning author, and longtime educator. He is the Lang Visiting Professor at Swarthmore College. 

Gup is a former staff writer and editor at The Washington Post and TIME magazine. His work has also appeared in The New York Times, Mother Jones, The Nation, Politico, The New Republic, The Guardian, and The Boston Globe, among many other outlets.

In addition to many teaching roles, Gup has been a Pulitzer Prize finalist and Guggenheim fellow, and he has won the George Polk Award, the Worth Bingham Prize, and the Gerald Loeb Award. He is the author of three nonfiction books.
