Stephen Smith

Stephen Smith has been exploring the Far North since the late 1970s and his work has been informed and influenced by a lifetime of experiences on the frozen ocean.
As a field biologist, Smith was involved in polar wildlife research for three decades. As an expedition leader, he has organized and led more than 60 projects in the High Arctic.
Smith has directed three feature documentaries that turn a spotlight onto a changing Arctic, including Vanishing Point, a finalist for Best Feature Documentary at the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards.
