Ryan Anson
GRANTEE
Ryan Anson is a freelance photojournalist currently based in San Francisco. Although many of his pictures are about social, political and religious issues in the Philippines, Anson has worked in 15 countries in Africa, Asia, and Central America. A recipient of several journalism grants, he has also completed stories for a variety of magazines and newspapers including The Far Eastern Economic Review, Newsbreak, the Washington Post, TIME-Asia, and The Saturday Times Magazine (Times of London), The New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle. His most current, long-term project is about Southeast Asias diverse Muslim minority communities.
When not at home near San Franciscos foggy beachfront or shooting photos abroad, Anson is probably resting at his familys farm in beautiful West Virginia.
