Richard Paddock

Richard C. Paddock is an award-winning foreign correspondent and investigative reporter based in Southeast Asia. Now a freelancer, he has worked in 50 countries on five continents and has written frequently on social justice and environmental issues. He previously worked for the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Center for Investigative Reporting, including posts as Moscow Bureau Chief and Jakarta Bureau Chief for the Times and Senior Reporter in Southeast Asia for the Journal. He shared in a 2015 Emmy nomination for outstanding investigative reporting for a PBS NewsHour report on hazardous underwater mining in the Philippines; an Overseas Press Club award for business writing; and a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news won by the Los Angeles Times.
