Nina Shapiro

Nina Shapiro is an award-winning reporter at The Seattle Times who writes about social issues. She has covered immigration closely in the past several years, reporting on everything from the secretive world of immigration courts to previously unknown information sharing between Washington state and immigration officials to an immigration crackdown that caused turmoil in a rural county that voted for President Trump. She has also worked for publications in New York, New Jersey and Southern Africa, where she lived for two years and returned in 2016 to write about HIV research.
