Nathalie Bertrams

Nathalie Bertrams is an award-winning investigative journalist, documentary photographer and National Geographic Explorer reporting on environmental conflict and social justice, primarily across Africa. Her stories uncover the global impact of resource extraction, ecological degradation and human rights abuses and have been published in outlets such as The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Süddeutsche Zeitung, El País and The Washington Post Magazine. She also directs documentaries for Arte/ZDF. Nathalie holds a Master’s in Fine Arts from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and her work has been exhibited internationally. She is a member of the International Press Institute, Women Photograph, Frontline Freelance Register and the Red Line collective.
