Monica Atieno

Monica Atieno is a Kenyan researcher and journalist interested in how technology, policy, and power shape people’s everyday lives. Her work focuses on digital rights, labor, and governance, with a particular interest in the people whose work sits behind the technology platforms and services used around the world. 

Through her research, Atieno seeks to understand not only how policies are made, but whose interests they ultimately serve and what happens to people who have the least power in those systems.
