Mónica Almeida

Mónica Almeida is an independent journalist from Ecuador with almost 40 years of experience.
She is a member of the editorial board of Primicias.ec. Almeida was the chief of El Universo’s investigative section, and also managed its main regional office for two decades in Quito, Ecuador's capital.
Almeida was awarded a Nieman Foundation Journalism Fellowship in 2009.
Almeida is a member of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and Connectas Hub, and she collaborates with El Centro Latinoamericano de Investigación Periodística (CLIP).
