Michelle Dueñas Mowery

TEACHER FELLOW

Michelle Mowery has been an English and Journalism teacher for the last 30 years in various settings: universities, a private boarding school, a Catholic school, and CPS selective enrollment high schools. Before she was a teacher, she was a journalist and freelance writer, then a grant administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency before going to graduate school for an M.A. in English Lit, an M.Ed. in Curriculum, and finally National Board Certification. She currently teaches junior and senior English and coaches the drama club and debate team at a selective enrollment high school in Chicago.
