Michael Shepherd

Michael Shepherd is the politics and government editor at the Bangor Daily News, where he also covers state government and political campaigns. In 2012, he won the Bob Drake Young Writer's Award from the Maine Press Association as a reporter for the Kennebec Journal. The association also honored him for stories on public safety and a state conservation program. He is a graduate of The University of Maine, where he edited the student newspaper for two years. He holds a master's degree in public policy from the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine.
