Lisa Delao

Lisa “LJ” uses they and he pronouns. They are a 9th grade English teacher in Richmond, VA. Currently, they serve on the Board of Directors for the Richmond Education Association, the local chapter of the National Education Association. They were a recipient of the 2021 Abolitionist Teaching Network Grant. Prior to becoming a classroom teacher, LJ worked in Richmond Public Schools as a Bilingual Parent Liaison, Interpreter, and After-School Arts Program Assistant. In 2019, they received a Fulbright Scholarship to serve as an English Teaching Assistant In Costa Rica. They have a passionate dedication to social justice issues both inside and outside the classroom. In their free time, LJ enjoys reading, gardening, and marveling at nature’s beauty.
