Lauren Mucciolo


Lauren Mucciolo is the executive producer at ASU's Howard Center for Investigative Journalism. Prior to joining Cronkite in 2019, she produced and directed documentaries for PBS Frontline in the U.S. and the BBC and Channel 4 in the UK, covering such topics as criminal justice, poverty, healthcare, and the economy. A three-time Emmy and two-time Grierson nominee, she has won two RFK Awards, an Online Journalism Award, a Jury Prize at SXSW, and a Best Director Award from the Royal Television Society, among other honors. Her filmmaking on solitary confinement was recently highlighted in a June 2020 article on solutions journalism in Documentary magazine; Ars Technica called her virtual reality film "the beginning of a new wave in VR documentaries and journalism."
